Dear Mama,
I hope everything is well back home. I'm sure you've been watching the news and understand the weight of what has happened. I just wanted to say that I am okay, the attack happened in the 11th arrondissement which is far away from where I live. Although this act has put France into a period of mourning, we have also found the strength to unite and there will be a parade on sunday in honor of the writers that lost their lives. I hope that you watch the parade on television and remember that I am safe and completely out of harms way.
